Struik pastel the grace and lightness ofJan Zondag (1891 1982) was a Dutch painter and draftsman from Annen in Drenthe. He was the eldest in a farming family of seven children. He studied at the National Teacher Training College in Groningen and became a teacher in Assen, but he became interested in painting. Zondag started with portrait painting and later also made landscapes. He has depicted various landscapes, but he has immortalized his birthplace Annen the most. Zondag's works have a
